1. Install the app
In Chrome tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app. “Add to Home screen” is not enough. If you added it earlier, remove that icon and install again.
2. Share a Reel
In Instagram open a Reel, tap Share, choose Share to…, then pick Waverise. Look under More if you don’t see it.
3. Still missing?
Tick auto-detect at the top, copy the Reel link in Instagram, then open Waverise.

Waverise is a toolkit for saving and reusing public Instagram content. Paste the link of a public post, Reel, Story, photo or carousel and Waverise fetches it for you.
Beyond downloads, Waverise turns a Reel’s sound into an MP3, makes ringtones for Android and iPhone, trims clips, and copies captions and hashtags with a small hashtag toolkit.
How it works
When you submit a link, our server reads the public post and streams the file to your device. There are no accounts. Temporary files are deleted as soon as your request finishes.

Frequently asked questions
Is Waverise free?
Yes. You don’t need an account or any login.
Is downloading from Instagram legal?
Saving public posts for personal use is generally fine, but the copyright belongs to the creator. Keep files private unless you have permission to reuse them.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. Only public posts work. If you can’t see the post while logged out, Waverise can’t fetch it either.
Why do I see “Couldn’t read this link”?
The post may be private, deleted or not a supported link type, or Instagram may be limiting requests for a moment. Check the link opens in a private browser tab, then try again.
Which links work?
Public Instagram links for posts (/p/), Reels (/reel/), IGTV (/tv/) and Stories.
What quality do I get?
Videos download in the best MP4 quality Instagram provides. MP3 files are 192 kbps. Clips are re-encoded as H.264 MP4.
How many hashtags can I use?
Instagram currently allows up to 5 hashtags per post. The hashtag toolkit warns you if you go over.
How do I install Waverise as an app?
In Chrome, open the three-dot menu and tap Install app, or use the Install button at the bottom of the page.

What we handle
Waverise has no accounts. When you submit an Instagram link, it is sent to our server so we can read the public post and return the file, audio, clip or caption you asked for.
Temporary files
Videos are streamed to you. Clips and ringtones are briefly created on the server and deleted when your request finishes. We do not keep copies of the content you process.
On your device
Waverise does not set cookies. It saves your saved hashtag sets and the auto-detect setting in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser settings. If you turn on auto-detect, the page reads your clipboard only to look for an Instagram link.
Third parties
Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes requests and may keep standard server logs such as IP address and browser type.
Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
Content is fetched from Instagram’s servers on your behalf.
We currently show no ads and use no analytics.
Children
Waverise is not directed at children under 13.

Waverise respects intellectual property. Waverise does not host or store Instagram content. It fetches public posts only when a user asks, and the original remains on Instagram. To have a post removed from Instagram itself, report it to Instagram.
Send a notice
If you believe Waverise is being used to copy your work without permission, email our contact email with:
Your name, address, phone number and email.
A description of the copyrighted work.
The exact link (URL) of the Instagram post.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may not be actioned. After a valid notice we can block the link from being processed by Waverise.
Counter-notice
If you think a link was blocked by mistake, write to us with your contact details, the link, and a statement that you believe in good faith it was blocked in error.
Repeat misuse
We may block links or users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
